Have you tried finding Dalphne on the electoral roll and see who else is under the Banbrick surname at the same address?
-
Have you purchased her death certificate to see if her husband is mentioned?
-
shume
I may have to do that if I am unable to find it any other way.

I found her on electoral rolls up to 1977, but there is no one with the same surame at the same address on any of them.
“Daphney” is buried Hemmant Cemetery, age 67, no one else in the grave with her.

Daphne Ailsa Bambrick
Died 21-11-1978
Mother: Mary Casey
Father: Michael O’Neill
So it looks like she married someone called Mr Bambrick. :)
A quick look didn’t throw up any obvious O’Neill / Bambrick marriages or Daphne O’Neill births around 1910 in Qld, NSW or VIC. I didn’t check name variations or other States, or look for second marriages. Best to check more thoroughly for yourself.
What led you to Daphne Nc?
Is it only her husband’s name you are looking for?
-
I believe she may have been born 1905 Port MacQuarie, with name Aline Grace Daphne O’NEILL
-
Neale1961/Ruskie
That is correct "Aline Grace Daphne O'Neill born 23 Jul 1905 Beechwood NSW"
Died under the name of Daphne Bambrick 1978. Daphne is my 1st cousin twice removed.
But I am still unable to find a record of her marrying a "Bambrick"

Hi,
If you are related to her in the way you say and as you apparently already knew the information so far passed on to you by R'chat contributors, is there other information you hold that you could kindly share in order to assist.
Had you for instance considered that she did not marry?
There are other reasons for using a name different to a birth name.
On the electoral rolls in QLD, Daphne shows as an employed person, frequently a clerk. And in 1954, she was performing domestic work at Girls Friendly Society, Brisbane.
As a clerk in 1963, she is in Fitzroy River and in the same vicinity are a number of others with the surname BAMBRICK, but none at her given address of 62 Albert Street.

Looking at the photo of the gravestone you have posted it seems that her " husband" Bambrick died after 1978 as it refers to " my dear wife Daphne" and I don't think those words would have been used if he pre deceased her.
So looking at QLD deaths:
There are no male Bambrick deaths on the QLD BDM website after 1978 up to 1992. Unless he died elsewhere of course.

I agree that the husband was still alive in 1978 due to the wording above. It would have been useful to see this included with the original question.
Mr Bambrick was obviously not registered to vote in Qld. I wonder if this might be due to him being from abroad and not being a naturalised Australian, (rather than the possible assumption that he and Daphne were not living together)?

I must confess when I posted last suggesting Daphne had not married, I had not read the headstone photo.
I had mistaken it for one of those large advertisement which frequently intrude across and in the middle of Rootschat posts. Thus I had scrolled past it without a glance ::)
So yes there clearly was a husband but as for him not voting so seeming not to share her address, it is a mystery.
Is it likely that there was a husband living with her at the Girls Friendly Society. Seems a bit odd.

From the death notice Trove 1921 for Mary O'Neill, Daphne is one of 3 unmarried daughters. As expected she was about 15 and orphaned. So she may have found Domestic work in an urban environment and formed a relationship with Bambrick?

I think the only way your going to find his name is to obtain Daphne's death cert as previously posted.
The death certificate should have when and where married and to who, any children she may have had etc. If filled out correctly they contain a wealth of information.

I bought copy of Daphney Bambrick death cert
Her second husband was Roy Edward Bambrick married Qld
Her first husband was Considine married NEW South Wales
It said she married Bambrick at the age 38 that would be around 1943 no record of a marriage if
Daphney married after 1947 I am unable to get the record.

Roy Edward Bambrick was born 1910 in Barcaldine; died 27 Aug 2001 Brisbane
-
There are WWII records for Roy Edward Bambrick giving his next of kin as his mother - so marriage to Daphne was sometime after the war?
-
Roy Edward Bambrick [if the correct one] applied to have his marriage to Margaret Elsie in 1951 so assuming his marriage to Daphne would have been after that and not available in the indexes.

Marriage
Roy Edward Bambrick
25/07/1936
Margaret Elsie Nightingale
Registration 1936/B/25558

Roy Edward Bambrick is with “Mary Daphne” Bambrick in the 1972 electoral roll. Looks like a suburb of Brisbane. Year chosen randomly. Haven’t checked others.
Added: and alone at same address in 1980.
-
In the electoral rolls 1954, 1958 & 1963 she is named as both Mary Daphne and Daphne Mary. At same address as Roy Edward. Not bothering about Ailsa etc
-
?? Maybe since she used Mary.
Marriage
James Francis Considine

“Aline Grace Daphne” to Daphne Mary or Mary Daphne? Marrying as Mary? Catholic?

This is the link showing Roy Edward Bambrick applying for divorce from first wife in 1951.
In 1954 he is living with Daphne at Monto so a marriage sometime between 1951 and 1954.
