Hey all, I wanted to ask for help in finding a lady who would be my grandfathers sister. I do have another post asking about this lady’s mother Jane Lyon’s and that went really well, you guys found out so much info. The daughter of Jane is a ghost after the family left Reading, around 1935/6 and settled back in Newcastle, Dublin.
The daughter is a Margaret M Pouch born in Reading in 1933 (I think) and her father was Edward Pouche.
I do know through speaking to cousins in Ireland Margaret Pouche has passed on leaving a daughter who is believed to be alive and well living in Wales.
I know living relatives aren’t to be searched within these pages so I would really like to track any info about Margaret (Peggy) so I can hopefully find her daughter, my Dads cousin.
If anyone can help in this I would be very grateful.
If any further info is needed? Please let me know.
Cheers
Ty

Your birth is spot on
Births Sep 1933
POUCHE Margaret M Lyons Reading 2c
You may struggle to get such recent Irish records from https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/ [births 1864 - 1947, marriages 1864 - 1947, deaths 1871 - 1972 but I'll have a look at newspapers.
ADDED: FYI thread on Jane Lyons https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=873515.0. I so far can only find the 2 newspaper references found in reply #4 on that thread.

A 25th anniversary notice Jan 18 1990 for a Margaret Pouch Newcastle Dublin, placed by a daughter.
-
Would she still be Margaret Pouch if married with a daughter? 25 yrs in 1990 would mean a 1965 marriage.
-
Don’t see a death in 1965 for Margaret just Edward.
I did wonder about the surname as well.
-
There is a Mary (Mollie) in Newcastle, Coogan nee Punch in Dec 1991 but she had sons and daughters.
-
Hey guys, thanks for the replies.
I was told Margaret Pouche was married in Ireland. So a Margaret in 1990 would more than likely be married to one of the many Pouch men living in and around Dublin.
But I wonder if said daughter used her mams maiden name so family and friends from her younger years would know the name? Or had Margaret divorced by 1990? This is info I haven’t heard or been told, if the case?
Thanks for the updates this far.

Mollie was my Grandfathers Aunt….😁

So you’re looking for Margaret Unknown nee Pouch who died sometime in Ireland and has a daughter.
Unless the nee is on her death notice, which it often isn’t I can’t see how we can find her without knowing her married name.
Any clues on her marriage?

....and a daughter in Wales with MMN Pouch[e], probably born in Ireland.
I think the cousins in Ireland need a little more prodding.
-
Looking on FamilySearch for children born in Ireland with mother nee Pouch gives possible surnames.
I don’t have time to go through them just now, although if Margaret was born 1933 they maybe to early.

You’re right I think the cousins do need a good poke! Thing is most of them are 70+ and not wizards with emailing back. I do have one cousin in Kildare who I’ve been emailing lots, he doesn’t know a lot about Margaret when she came to Ireland with her father Edward.
There is plenty on Edward but not a lot of info with my Grandfather and his sister. Sadly the block on Irish records makes it hard to look for these people.
Is there a records office in Dublin? I’m going back over in October/November. Maybe I can look there and see what I can gain access to.

You can be nearing 80 and still a wizard with emailing ;D .....

🤣🤣 I’m 42 so not quite there yet, I hope I will still have my marbles at 80!!
