Hi I have been trying to find information for mother in law, who is 80?
I have had no luck for months trying to find anything for her mother Hannah Nuttall who married Harold Jackson. I can only find their marriage & also Sylvia would like to know where her dad is buried (lives in Australia so no idea)
Hannah Nuttall
Born Jan 5 1918 Stetford, Lancashire, England
Died Dec 31 1970 (at age 52) Southend On Sea, Essex, England
Married
Harold Jackson
Born Oct 18 1914 10 Fletcher Street, Nelson, Lancashire, England
Died Feb 10 1978 (at age 63) Todmorden, England
They had Sylvia Jackson who was born 1943 in Halifax.
I also know that they lived in Shade (Todmorden), moved to 33 Dineley Avenue, Todmorden, Nutfield Street, Todmorden.
I also know of a Hannah had a brother Frank who died at 15/16 and Jim. John & Nellie as other siblings
I can find nothing on the Nuttall side ????
Could someone please advise or assist as my mother in law has been trying to look for years??
Much appreciated Cheers Michelle

What information does the marriage cert give about Hannah's father, his name and occupation?
Hannah Nuttall
Born Jan 5 1918 Stetford, Lancashire, England
Died Dec 31 1970 (at age 52) Southend On Sea, Essex, England
Do you mean Stretford? This birth reg is pretty close.
NUTTALL, HANNAH
Mother's maiden surname: DAWSON
GRO Reference: 1918 M Quarter in STOCKPORT Volume 08A Page 71

Looking at the free index for the 1921 census for Todmorden, that Hannah's parents would be this marriage.
Marriages Dec 1904
DAWSON, Ellen
NUTTALL, James Thomas
Oldham 8d 1143
Hannah's siblings in 1921 are James Dawson, John, Jane Ellen, and Frank. You can search for birth registrations here, you need to register but it is free.

If young Frank died in a bicycle collision with a lorry, then this is his death registration.
NUTTALL, FRANK
Age 15

Huge thank you Dundee. You are a gem.
The Frank Nuttall I knew of from Sylvia and a lovely person posted photo for me in Findagrave. Yes died on a bike. This is the only info I could find.
I have no idea how I missed this. as I looked several times. Thank goodness you have made a start for me. Nut the Jane Ellen was throwing me. as Sylvia could only remember the Nellie (obviously a nicname). Sylvia mother died young and she did not get to ask her anything.
As I dont know the area and Sylvia kept stating Stetford BUT I think this is why I could find nothing. It must be the Stretford.
Finally!!! Thank you so much. Now I will try and build on this.
There is obviously no one researching this family as not a soul has ever matched to the tree I have built.
Cheers & HUGE thanks Michelle

Marriage cert of Hannah
Sylvia said she had not ever had the marriage cert of her mum hannah (SO unfortunately no information there) Never knew her grandparents or their name either.
It has been very hard trying to find info from SYlvia . I had asked once to get the marriage cert of her mum but it never evolved. Sorry about that,
So I can't even help with what the grandfather did
Please do let me know if you find anything else much appreciated Cheers Michelle

James T Nuttall and wife Ellen are in Todmorden in 1939.
Both born 1880
-
Regarding burial place of Harold Jackson. Seeing nothing at present.
I can see your minlaws birth reg.
Noting the registration district. There are other Jackson/Nuttall births in the same district and time period. Does she have siblings? (Not naming any because will still be living) Has she asked if any of them know where her father was buried?/ ashes put?
Added…looking again, perhaps the later births are to another couple. Desmond Jackson & Betty NUTTALL (you think these name combs are uncommon and then you find dozens! )

Replying to Neale1961
Well at least we know those people were alive in 1939
Definitely a bit more information
Thanks for that. Cheers Michelle

Any information is appreciated
It's a hard one

I cannot find a lead except for this 1911 and some info on one of the brother James.
Harder than my family
Thanks so much and yes that man is him at least we know that
Again my thanks Michelle

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/
fill in all the info from that snip I posted.
the results page will look as if there are none.
But fear not - Scroll down further and you will see there is an image
click on it - the page opens and also the order form on the R.H.S.
Fill that in according to the info and then you should get directed for payment
At some point I think you might have to make an account
in a week or so you will get an email, you have to log in to your account and download the will.

William JACKSON and Clara RICHARDSON were married Burnley Mar qtr 1896
A son - Latham Jackson S. Qtr 1897, Burnley Union. Vol 08E page 163
1911 - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X4M2-8HY

Anyway - Latham has a WW1 record that has survived
he married Dorothy HILLARY in 1919. I don’t see that they had any children
and died 23 August 1976 there is a probate for him. Cannot see his burial either. But perhaps it is he Harold was interred near.
William, Clara and Latham look as though they tried living in Canada. They are on a ship to Canada July 1906 going to Winnipeg Also an Elizabeth Jackson age 35, single - it might say “to stop with brother-in-law” not sure
and an Elizabeth A. Wilson age 18
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2Q3D-W5R.
Harold’s Twin Lily died in Halifax on 2 July 1964 (Lily HAIGH wife of Eric HAIGH) They were married in 1938
Possibly a son in 1940 - Halifax and a daughter 1941 - would need certs to confirm - so they would be your m-in-law’s cousins.

Hi and thanks so much. I was looking at Ancestry and My Heritage and honestly just couldn't get info BUT was going by what my mother in law of 80 was telling me.
SO all information is purely by what was advised and thank goodness for this site as now beginning to put together.
Mother in law had stated he was one of a twn and could be buried near his brother james.
I have quite a bit to advise her on now and thanks for your patience. I appreciate it,
Cheers Michelle
