According to his army records, JFS Wemyss was born in Fulham in 1888, and thereafter attended St Thomas's School and worked as a woollen salesman. His family home was in Munster Road.
Can I find his birth or census records? I cannot. WHY?
I note that when he emigrated in 1918 (after being court martialled) he gave his nationality as Irish, however.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

When was his family living in Munster Road?
What name does he have in his military record?
Where did he emigrate to and under what name?
-
His family was living in Munster Road when he joined up in 1914, and this is the address on the passenger list when he emigrated in 1918.
He has the same name in his military records.
He emigrated to America under the name James Francis Wemyss.
