Our family migration document was for Timothy Donnelly and his wife Eliza Scales who came to Australia in 1840 from Hog Island, River Shannon, Ireland.
Timothy's parents were Simon Donnelly and we believe Winifred Dempsey.
Unable to read the parents on this document.
Looking for help pleae, we have no information on Eliza Scales family

A better quality scan might help. Even the printed bits are blurred and hard to read.
One of the signatures is Joseph Saml Scales. Below that Alick Williams and below that John Lucas ?.

This photo has been provided by a relation in the UK, he said the paperwork was extremely frail, difficult to read himself. Got to remember it is 1840 documentation.
Can't do much better I'm afraid.

Have you seen this ? Not sure of the provenance but Eliza's parents are recorded as Joseph Scales (a gardener of Mount Pleasant) and Mary Johnson:

If its very frail, it may be an idea to scan it at a high resolution asap so that the original does not need to be handled again - though I'd also be looking into seeing if it could be professionally stabilised and preserved.
Once you have a high resolution image it can copied and perhaps enhanced in a graphics package and can then be shared with as many family members as possible to be sure that future generations can see and read it.

This is great Shaun,
I wonder if these other Scales names are children of Joseph Samuel Scales, would be good to know of other family members, apart from our Eliza Scales who came to Australia.
