Hi

I looked on 1837 &  Ancestry to find out who moses married but couldn't find her name so the best way to find out her name would be to send of for the marriage cert and you can work from there.

Thank you kmo and Sparkle 26.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
I'll send off for a marriage cert.copy.

I'm trying to push back and find Moses and Aaron's parentage and then beyond, now

Warm Regards

Hi,

I know this was originally posted a long time ago but I've literally just registered so thought I'd start by having a quick read through to see if there was anything particularly relating to my research that had already been posted. I hope you are still looking at this Antipodes.
Moses Evans was my great great grandfather; I am descended from his son, Ivor Moses. According to my records, Moses was the youngest of 7 children born to George & Ann Evans in Stapleton, Hereford. George was born in Clun, Shropshire, about 1791. I don't have any maiden name information for either Moses' wife or his mother, so if you can help me out in return, it would be appreciated.

By the way, how are you related to him?

Best wishes

mrsd

Hello mrsd.

I went all goosey when I read your post yesterday!

My name is Bryan Evans.  I live in Brisbane Australia.

Moses Evans was also my great-great-grandfather!!

His oldest son Bryan was my great-grandfather, born about 1869-70

His son, my grandfather was called Ivor (b 1897) obviously after Bryan's brother.  Bryan and wife Mary had three other children - Gladys, Mervyn and Clifford ("Cliff")

Ivor and wife Hilda had one child - Charles Graham, my father (b.1921)

Graham and his wife Ella had one child, me. (b. 1947)

I am married to Yvonne, have four kids - two boys, two girls all married now - and have two grandchildren.

I am so excited to have your contact.  I, too have only got so far back to George, b. 1791.  I think his wife may have meen Ann, b.1813, therefore considerably younger - I will try to confirm that.

For the moment, I'll try to get Moses' birth certificate.  I've viewed the register listing on line, but not the actual entry.

Two much loved possessions of mine are photos of me, my father, grandfather and great-grandfather sitting together - in one, Im 9mths old and the other age 8.

My email address is:
bryvon20@bigpond.net.au

Love to hear more from you,

Regards

Dear EBN

Thank you for that information.  I'll follow that up.

As you can see above, I've had an exciting contact with an unknown relative with common ancestor.

Do you have any advice on how I can trace marriage details for Moses'father George and mother Ann.  They were living in Stapleton fro, I would think about 1830 to 1850-60, I judge.

Thanks again

Antipodes.

Need Moses Birth Certificate to find out his Mothers maiden name, then we can be sure of correct marriage certificate.
Only post 1837 one I can find is the marriage of George Evans to Mary Ann Jones in Kington in 1837

Hello EBN.

My recent contact "mrsd" above tells me that she has a copy of Moses' birth certificate, stating his mother's maiden name as (Ann) Holland.

Ann was born in 1813 at Brampton Bryn (? spelling), Herefordshire

Moses, born to her in 1847, married a Mary Ann Jones in 1869 or thereabouts.
