Hi
My ggggrandparents married
27 July 1780 Wirksworth Parish, Derby, Derbyshire,
Wirksworth Parish records:
M 1780jul27 BASSANO Richard(Derby St Marys)
/WATERFIELD Mary (Cromford)
Witnesses: John ROOME,
Philip WATERFIELD
IGI RECORD : Batch No: M059491 (copy held)
Our BASSANO Family Arms Pedigree records Mary Waterfield birth
10 September 1759 dau of Philip Waterfield
Is there a local source for a copy of that birth entry/baptism?
Was Cromford the village/town of her birth?
I am wanting to find more WATEFIELD's for my tree.
Best regards,

Cromford is a small village between Wirksworth & Matlock, it did have a Noncom church but I don't think it went back that far, will probably come under Matlock, try www.wirksworth .org

Hi Gaye, I can see that this was posted in 2005 so might not still be active but I am pretty sure that John Roome who was a witness to your 4xg Grandparents wedding was my 4x Great Grandfather. Regards. :)
