Title: Scally of Roscommon
Post by: hheapet on Friday 07 October 05 12:42 BST (UK)
hi,
I have found my GG grand parents whose names are Dominic (B circa 1830) and Ann (b circa 1830) Scally.
they were both born in Roscommon and i am assuming they married before being on the English census in litchfield staff in 1881.
Can anyone help me as to how I can get further information on them?
PS the eldest son living with them in 1881 was 25 and born in Litchfield.

Peter

Hello Peter,

How are you progressing with your search?

I looked at Griffith's Valuations for Roscommon and found no one called Dominic. The christian names of the children of Ann and Dominic might throw some light on the subject. You mention an eldest son so I presume there were other boys in the family. Possibly one was named after his grandfather who may have been the
head of a household.

Best Wishes, Christopher
