1851 1861 1871 Census, Gillingham/Margaret Marsh area.
Born Sept 1849 reg Shaftesbury.Fathers name also John.
He is on 1881 at Gillingham.

Joe,
Thanks for all this info.
The Bastables were quite well documented, owned several farms in the Stours.Found on Harrods 1865/80/95, Directory for Stour Provost.
Found several yesterday buried in All Saints churchyard at Stour Row, dating back to mid 1890s.
No farming Bastables left present day, last one was a Richard Geoffrey Bastable of Ruddocks Farm Stour Row who died in 1973 age 71, that I can find.
I also could not find John Albert Weare on 1861 census.
Will now send for his birth cert.
His wife Martha Mary died of burns in Hungerford 1908, waiting for reply from Reading Berks RO, re inquest.
Very grateful for your time spent on finding this info for me
Thanks.

Hi Brionne, appreciate this was a very old thread but I wondered if you ever found 1861 census information for John Albert Weare? Its a gap in my family tree (he is my 2nd great grandfather). Many thanks, Nic

Hi NICXH Welcome to Roots Chat.
Have moved house, new email on the blink, mainly due to my very old lap top. Unable to get into my Tree at present.there are some Weares of mine on the main A,,,,,, site, unable to name site due to Roots Chat policy.
Will let you know later, but have a feeling I have never found him in 1861. Brionne.

There is no problem in naming Ancestry.
