I have a death certificate where the informant is unknown to me but their Qualification reads ‘Causing the body to be cremated’. The informant’s address is the same as the deceased’s. Would this wording be used if, say, the informant was living with but not married to the deceased?

Thanks for the responses. The 6th Poona Div under Charles Townsend was mentioned so I am on the right track. Does anyone know where the regimental records might be or whether the prisoners were recorded or whether they were debriefed?

A letter I have found suggests that a member of the family was a prisoner after the fall of Kut and 'had some dreadful experiences, but was exchanged and sent home eventually'
I believe his name was Joseph Anthony (Anton) Isenbegger and that he was in the 6th Poona Div but I know nothing more until he arrives in South Africa about which I have all the info I need.
Can anyone tell me whether any records exist of these prisoners? Thanks

reply 16 refers. Thanks for the additional birth record, I found the registration in n the name of Elizabeth Anne ISENEGGER 4thQ 1934 Paddington 1a 56 and didn't see the second CLEMENTS record with the same reference. I am obtaining the certificate and her 1953 marriage cert.

Judith was his second wife.
Doris had Elizabeth Anne in 1934 but no father recorded. She and Doris both have 1939 register entries amended to show Isenegger-Clements but I also have been unable to find a marriage record.
