WOW!

How do you do it?......get all the information and remember what you have already researched

It's such a sad story though.....he died at 30,1917 and his younger brother Frederick  died aged 24 in 1918. I wonder how that must have affected him when he was fighting in France knowing his brothers wife and young children were mourning their husband/ father.....I imagine that they would have been close having 'found' each other again in Canada and then undertaking a farming project together.

The grave stone says 30, the death certificate says age...28..... Any idea for the
discrepancy ?....or ' just one of those things'

Thank you    Emm

Apologies.....thought if I submitted this in another format  anyone who had not seen it.....might think ...... Maybe....it's the  family I'm researching....

Where is the best place to post a search for ' living ' family members?

Yes I have posted once or twice and researched jake....though having looked at your links again (today).....still found other areas to research.... I notice that you refer to his various records (Frederick/Ernest).....though i have been unable to find them...... Any suggestions?
I know there was a reference to a will....but never found it

Believe the two brothers went into partnership and possibly purchased some land to work in 1913.....ish....

have found the photograph of Ernest Henry s grave.....

which is the best way forward to search Canadian Genealogy...with what i know ......sorry for so many questions...if i can help with british geneaology....please ask and i will do my best!

Also while I am here.....I presume he married pre 1911 ....(was marriedby1911census)

....you say  you haven't been able to find a marriage..... Obviously the marriage would help significantly.....

The 100 year rule refers to records in Canada  I believe....is this marriage  /  birth.......she was born in Scotland....however  I will still need to wait/ find a marriage certificate.......for maiden name......yes?

Please let me know if I'm approaching this the wrong way

Again apologies and thank you for any help

Emm

Hello JDC

Thanks for the reply....heres the info I have on Ernest.....

In 1911 he was in:
Province: Manitoba District: Lisgar District Number: 17 Sub-District Number: 18
Ernest Barnes 22 .......recorded as married...however I have been unable to find a Jennie May Barnes born 1892..scotland..in 1911

In 1916 Canada Census of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta
Name: Ernest Henry Barnes Gender: Male
Marital Status: Married Age: 27 Est. Birth Year: 1889 Birthplace: England
Home in 1916: 12, Lisgar, Manitoba Address: 4, 7, 1, Oversea
Household Members: Name Age
Jennie May Barnes  24
Charles Henry Barnes  1
Arthur Leslie Barnes  0
Frederick Barnes  21 ....His brother

Im sure the address makes sense to you....it means very little to me....

Does that help

Thanks Emm
