My Great-Grandfather was born in Hillsborough as was his Uncle John Andrews who went to Montana and became a Copper King.  I know he died in 1916 in Utah.

My Great-Grandfather Richard Andrew received a telegram from America stating that he and 13 other members of his family would be inheriting a large sum of money from there uncle.  I know from my mum that my great-grandad never received any of this money.  Does anyone know how I would go about finding out what happend to it. I know the story appeared in a Glasgow Newspaper in 1930.

Lanarkshire / Mary Gillespie

I am  looking for help with finding a birth certificate for Mary Gillespie who is my great-gran.  I know she married my great-grandfather John Andrews on 7 September 1866 in the district of Hutchesontown, Glasgow.  I know of 7 children they had.  Mary died on 27 December 1892.  I have tried on both Scotlands People and Family Search but I just cannot find a birth certificate.  Mary's parents were George Gillespie and Mary Gillespie nee Boyd.  I have not as yet located a marriage certificate for them.

Any help would be great.

Cheers Meg

Armagh / Abraham Dawson
« on: Tuesday 02 February 10 10:07 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for information regarding my Great-Great Granddad.  Abraham Dawson was born in Ireland about 1820.  I know he married Jane Hadden in Magheralin. I have two possible years of marriage either 1844 or 1st August 1842 which is as per my Great-Grandad's birth certificate.  I believe Abraham died in Barnhill Poor House, Springburn, Glasgow, 14 August 1869.  No wife is listed but parents are listed as George Dawson and Jane Dawson (maiden name is not clear it looks like Haters).

Could anyone help.
