Hello Avongirl,
Thanks for that, looking at the picture I see now where I get my lack of hair from,  ;D ;D ;D, I do know that the Butt family came from Horsington in Somerset, and I believe prior to that they where from the Gloucester area, and somewhere down the line from India/Pakistan/Iraq, as Butt is a name from that area.
looking forward to hearing from you again
                                                                    regards

Hi Avongirl,
Thanks for that, I know the Butt family got around a bit, one of them even ended up in Dundee, working as a confectioner, that was Edwin Hawkins Butt, just to let you know, I found out that Harriet father was William Hawkins, don't know if that is of any help.
looking forward to hearing from you again
                              regards

hello there,
regarding the Hawkins family, do you by any chance have a Harriet Hawkins, born around 1820, was married to Nicholas Olden Butt, and was living in St Peters Port, Guernsey, as have only been able to find her on the 1841 census, and all I get is that she was born in England, which does not give you much to go on, I know this is a shot in the dark, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Cornwall / littlechild family
« on: Sunday 23 March 14 14:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hello, was wondering if anyone is looking for this family, they seem to be in the falmouth/probus areas mostly looking for Timothy littlechild and spouse Ann gill ,  they married  July 1740 and any connections to Stephen Harte who marries their daughter Sarah littlechild February 1772 in Probus, bit of a long shot I know, but know doubt there are R/c's out there with a handle on this.

A few years back I was making a delivery to Jane Austins house in Hampshire, and was standing in the line at the ticket desk waiting for them to sign my paperwork, when the wife of the American couple in front of my produced a copy of Pride and Prejudice, and asked the woman behind the ticket counter if "Miss Austin was available to sign it for her" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Whilst at the library today trying to knock down the odd brickwall, I came across this entry on the 1881 census that concerned a relation of mine, he and his wife were "boarders" with a widow and her teenage daughter, well my relation took a bit of a fancy to his landlady, and she had a child by him,  his wife stayed and they brought the child up as her own, and just to rub salt in the wounds he did it again, and still his wife stayed, makes you wonder what Jerrmy kyle would have made of that :o :o :o :o

just gone a bit deeper and it gets worse, he had three children with the landlady, the first was only born 3 months before his first child with his wife, he then went onto have the next 2 years later and then the next 2 years later again, then he had 3 more children with his wife, and he even movec the landlady and her own child from her dead husband eo within a couple of mile from where he was living with his wife and kids :o :o :o, I think he is going on the "blacksheep list"
