Hello Sean,

i have finally logged back in and would be very grateful to hear more about this family, sorry for the long delay. Hope it's not too late  Roots chat would not come up on my firefox browser. i saw my brother yesterday and he had printed off the information about our Grandmother Mary Ita. He told me he didnt know who Nora42 was but thought he and i may be relate to them.

@I am a little cofused as to dates as the ages of all these people seem to differ on both the 1901 and 1911 census.

John Harrold / 29 Nov 1866 / Feenagh, Co. Limerick / Ref. 638
  Edward Harrold / 17 Jan 1869 / Fenagh, Co. Limerick / Ref. 669
  Daniel Harrold /  21 Feb 1872 / Feenagh, Co. Limerick / Ref 707
  Thomas Harrold / 30 Oct 1874 / Ireland / Ref v 20 p 535

and then again here - although I don't doubt that these must be my ancestors. lol

so as far as i can tell
michael 1858, margaret 1863 or 1866, john 1866 or 1868, daniel 1871,72 or 74, thomas 1874 or 76,eliza 1869 or 1879 edward or edmund 1869.

these were all bothers and sisters

I am assuming that all this discrepancy in dates is quite normal?

Hello,
i have managed to find my grandmother on the 1901 census, she did not live with her parents and brothers and sisters but with her cousins.
It is the parents of these cousins, and Mary's grandparents  that I would like to find. I know know census records survive before 1901 but would there be church baptism records?

I do not know where to begin to look so maybe someone can help me out.

Mary my grandmother was moved away for poking the baby in the eye - all seems a little harsh to me but maybe it was normal then.

it seems very unusual for them to have only one child as their son farthered 9 that i know of.

Hello,

I am trying to find
Henry Barnell born 1821 London married too
Mary A Barnell born 1824 London
would some one look up

Henry C Barnewall born 1821 on the 1851 Census ithink this is the same man.

he should have a wife as above Mary A and a son Henry William C Barnell
born in 1844,

if this is the same person were there more children?

thanks very much for that interesting reply.

I have been wondering over the last few months if something odd went on with Matilda Walker and William Samms and William Major
Matilda married Samms in 1858
a daughter Matlida is born in 1859

can anyone find this family on the 1861 census?

By 1864 Matilda is with William Major and Elizabeth is born.
But I can not find a wedding for this couple.

Is it possible that they were never married or indeed they were but not as Matilda Walker/Samms or William Major, beginning to think that Willaim Major was an assumed name, does anybody have clue as to why he may have done this?

that's quite interesting can you find him on the 1871 census or ones befor the 1861

I have looked him up on the BMD but there is no sign of marriage at around 1860 ish

Hello Everybody,

So today after i got home from visiting my Mum :( the wedding cert was here for Mary A Harold. i ordered it March 30th - not the best service but it is here.

Her father was Micheal Harold a Farmer so it makes this http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Limerick/Broadford/Barnagarrane/637746/  her family for sure.

Mary Ann is on the cert but on her grave it says Mary Ita. is Ita the Irish for Ann?

there are possible records for her birth on

how do I order or get to see certificates to check?
