A few years ago at a renaisance festival in North Carolina I met someone who was looking for her relative who originated in England by the name of ARTHUR HAMER and I found him, but the email address she gave me I couldnt translate it. We were on holiday from the UK

If this lady searches Rootschat and she gets back to me I will be able to give her the information I found

I recently decided to research my late stepfathers family because I did not know anything about his past and as I am going to visit London I would like to see where he his family came from because he never talked about his origins

Lawrence Edgar Thomas English was born in 0ctober 1915 in Holborn?. His parents were John Edgar English born 1892 probably in Islington.John was in the Royal artillery as a driver and also a Journeyman Baker. His mother was Minnie Elizabeth English nee Sellens born 1885 was in Holborn area?. Minnies mothers name was E S sellens.

My stepfather was supposed to have had a distinguised war record and I have always wondered just what that meant. Many thanks

The Common Room / Re: RootsChat members contact has stopped

rootschat has been very good in my search for family history. I was recently contacted by an unknown relative and we exchanged information about shared grandparents and I was able to provide details concerning our grandparents, but now all contact has stopped and I feel like I was just used as an information provider. Obviously some people do not want to keep in touch which is fair enough.

no thats okay thanks as have relatives email address and he obviously does not want to keep in touch so not going to bother.  put it down to experience and be more careful next time. thanks for your help

A short while someone sent me information about James Connor born Dublin 1829, his brother william born Dublin 1833, his mother Mary born dublin 1803 and also some information about some sisters and one sisters marriage. They were resident in  St Andrews Newcastle up on Tyne. I wonder would the person who supplied the info kindly get back to me with the details.

My computer went down and I lost the information and had no chance to remember the details given.

I do apologise for the delay in thanking everyone who helped and would be grateful if they would kindly take the time to get back to me many thanks
