Hi again KMcC,   I think, from your reply, we have been in touch previously, probably through one of the Family History Societies.   Does that ring a bell with you?   You may still have my email address as we were in touch some years ago.

Regards,   Katy88.

Hi KMcC,  Received email from Rootschat, I haven't been doing research for some time but it was good to receive your post.   WWP was my husband's grandfather and GP his great grandfather.   George and Annie Wootton were married on 1st September 1894 at St. Saviours Church in the Meadows area of Nottingham.  But you probably know this.  I have a small photograph of William and Betsy Wootton with three of their children  - Samuel, William and Annie not on the photo is Lizzie.   It is George Price we are interested in as we do not seem to be able to trace his birth certificate.   His mother was Frances Hawley and she marriied Robert Price in 1873 and had another son - Robert.    We believe George was illegitimate as we were always told his birth date was 27th April, 1871.   If you feel we can be of any further help, would be pleased to hear from you.

Kind regards.    Katy88.

Other Half just found Barton upon Irwell in our AA atlas (2008).   It is in Salford, not far from Eccles and the Trafford Centre.   Hope this helps.

I am wondering if anyone has access to the Baptisms at St. Chad's, Lichfield, Staffs and if so, would they be kind enough to look up the baptism of William Martin, baptised on 26th December, 1826.   I would like to know the names of parents and more importantly to me, his father's occupation if it is given.   I obtained the baptismal information from Family Search, I think his father was John and mother Ann - my 3 x great grandparents, if correct.

Thank you.       Katy.

Hi again Diddy,

In your last post you asked if I could get the marrige checked.   I did mention in my first post that the Parish Register for Radford, Nottingham stated that John Martin and Ann Dufty were married on the 4th December, 1815 "both of Nottingham Barracks a place extraparochial", both signed their names in the presence of (Witnesses) 1. John PLACKETT, 2. Joseph NOOKE and 3. Caroline HAFORD.   I do have a copy of this marriage taken from the actual Parish Register.

So it looks as though neither parents were in attendance.   As you can see - a brick wall.

I am grateful for your interest and help - thank you so much

Katy.
