Fermanagh / Help Requested - Look Up Death June 1876

Hi,
I am looking for some help in trying to piece together a bit of my husband's family story. I have a birth certificate which notes the death of Alexander Symington in County Fermanagh on 30th June 1876. Both his parents came from Ireland and I am surmising that he was visiting or working in Ireland at the time. He had been living in Glasgow with his parents before marrying there. I wanted to confirm the death and the cause as he was a young man probably in his 30's. Depending on what it was, that might help establish why he was over.

Hi Allan
He married Catherine Hallyday. He had a son Francis but that is the only child I have so far been able to identify. The Cottages feature as an address further down my family tree but the family always seem to have stayed around there and I have not got an address for John.

Hi,
Don't know if we have a connection. My Kerrs lived in Cleughbrae Cottages and the last one I have is a John who married in 1805. Did your John have a son John?

Thanks for the advice. I have tried to trace her using wildcards but the only Harries Fraser I can find is single and was registered by a neighbour. I'll keep looking.

I am trying to get information on Herries Irving born in Annan about 1792. She lived with James Fraser in Brachill and - the census has her under her maiden name and I have not found any marriage certificate. The names became family names but it may have been Harris Irvine as these were what was handed down. I have drawn blanks with Scotland's People.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have only seen your message by total co-incidence. Robert Kerr was my great grandfather. He was a policeman in Lanarkshire. He died before I was born but I remember his wife. I have other information if you want.

Write to Sharon McAlees at Dalrymple House, 195, Dalrymple Street, Greenock. There should be records on your friend but s/he will have to ask for them him/herself. Bank Street was a home in Greenock until fairly recently.

Thanks again. I am trying to find information about a number of people in the Dumfries area so am trying to get as much information as possible before coming down.
