Hi, I am researching John Campbell b approx 1823, Kingshouse, Argyllshire - also listed as Argyleshire, Glenorchy?? Married Elizabeth Robertson (b approx 1824 Perthshire, Kenmore). Listed on 1851 census at 19 Main St, Newton on Ayr with baby Jean. 2 daughters, Jean & Jessie bapt in 1852 in Ayr. Listed on 1861 census at 7 North Street, Barony, Lanarkshire. Occupation in 1861 was spirit dealer. Marriage record 10/6/1854 for John & Elizabeth - states they were proclaimed three sabbaths - does anyone know what that means? Came to Australia in 1864 - with girls & other children, Christina & Ewen. Can anyone help with John's birth/bapt records, parents, campbell family etc and 1841 census listing for him. Thanks
