Error - on behalf of the stone mason?. Should it be 1853, which if it was, then I would say he was in the Royal Navy at 13 years old and was at the Crimea when the war started?.

Other countries have no issue with this, because they understand the advantages.....

Whilst other countries appear to have no problem with I.D. cards there is, within the British psyche, an inherent objection to such things. Do we really need to be hearing "Papers please"?; the refrain usually heard in states more authoritarian than the U.K.. After all, apart from the need for I.D. cards during wartime, we have no history of the requirement for such documents.
It was a battle to get rid of them after the last war and the need to have them was not repealed until several years after the war ended. A typical example of state reluctance to relinquish control.
In a former existence I had to carry a form of I.D. card but now I no longer need it, I have no wish to have another just to prove who I am.
Furthermore, the problem is these things are never simple. Remember, they will be bureaucratic and that just breeds more bureaucracy.
No thank you to "vaccine passports" or I.D. cards.

Ethics and legalities apart, I am not in favour of so called vaccination passports. However, if we must have them then we must start with dates of vaccination with the vaccine batch numbers together with a photograph of the holder, the holders date of birth, perhaps N.I. number, and a brief physical description.
However, we can do without them - but not the vaccinations.
Also, if we must have "passports" , they must be paid for out of existing general taxation - free at the point of delivery as it were.

I don't suppose all the nonsense Monsieur Macron has been spouting about the AZ vaccine has helped the current situation or are the French "anti-vaxxers" in general?.

We have a week in July booked at our favourite B and B in west Wales which was booked during our annual stay there last July, which went very well. I just hope that we are able to go by then. If not, then maybe later in the year. Also, if we are able, we'll have another break somewhere in the U.K..
We have also re-booked our Baltic cruise which was cancelled last year and, all being well, we will be sailing away May 2022.

A sad loss;  not only for his family but for the entire human race.
A one off. We, quite probably, shall never see the like of him again.

Was his pneumonia mis-diagnosed I wonder?. The last time my wife and I was him on television we remarked he didn't appear to be in the best of health and I think this was not long after his return from Barbados. I am sure we all wish him well and a speedy recovery.

So we're being penalised for the efficiency of the people carrying out the vaccinations in our area.  :(  Perhaps instead of doing that they should be finding out why the other regions are behind.

We keep asking in Wales as to why we have the lowest vaccination rate in the UK, but no one will or can tell us properly. Anyway, we have plenty of promises so we will see what happens. I'm now suspecting I won't  be vaccinated before March, despite being in one of the groups promised vaccination by mid February. C'est la vie.

Perhaps this has something to do with the problem?.
