Family History Beginners Board / Finding my adopted half brother
« on: Tuesday 07 July 15 10:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Can anyone help me as to how I can try to make contact with a half brother whom was adopted at birth in the United Kingdom ..(1964)  I have the details of the date, birth etc and have written to adoption agencies in that area - all to no reply. I believe it could be due to possibly having his first name changed. Is there Anyone looking for adopted family finding it hard ?
Any help would be appreciated :)
Kindest Regards

Family History Beginners Board / Trying to locate headstone in cemetery
« on: Thursday 27 June 13 08:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi, :)
Would anyone know how to obtain a detailed map of Fletton Cemetery in Peterborough UK?
I have been given my deceased  grandmothers section and grave number but can not find any maps over the internet to find the specific location.
If anyone can give me any advise or a link I can follow it would be kindly appreciated.
Kind Regards,

Hi whitehead85,
Albert married Phyllis Mee they had 3 children, Pat(dec), Alan and Carole.
Phyllis passed away 1951 during the birth of her 4th child. .They lived in Hicks Lane Peterborough.
Carole is my mother. She married Leslie Riches (dec)and migrated to Australia back in 1966 on the ship Ellinis.
Could you please tell me your mothers name so we can work out who you are?
I believe your mum is my mums cousin?
Thanks,

Hi whitehead85,
Thankyou for your input. I'm quite interested in following up on our family tree. Your mums Uncle Albert Labasse Woodward was my grandfather. I do have many gaps in my family tree (Woodward/ German) . Please personal message me. If you are new to this  site you may have to post 3 messages before you can send a personal message(?)
Kind Regards, :)

Hi,  :)

Thanks for the input. Sorry the photo turned out so big.

Do you think my g uncle Frank would be the gentleman in the back with only half his face showing?

I think it could be him but Im only guessing.

As I dont have any other photos to clarify.

cheers

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / photograph recognition

Hi , :)
This will sound like a very silly question, but how do I go about deciding who is who in a photo ?
I have a photo of the 460 squadron during the WW2, in it is 7 brave men who fort during WW2.

The names are listed from left to right, but the gentlemen are standing in 3 rows.
2 at the back, 3 in the middle and 2 in the front.

Some people say you start with the back row and go from left to right, and others say its completely left to right regardless of rows.
Does anyone know how to decipher who is who?
My g uncle is in the photo and I have no idea which one he is  ???
Can anyone help........ Thanks  buzzby
