The Common Room / Ernest Cedric Selway & Joyce Lillian Gurney

This is my first step to tracing my family tree - hope someone maybe able to  get me started.

All I know is my grandfather Ernest Selway was in the war (must have been the first WW)- he was injured when a search light exploded and he
received eye damage.  He traveled by ship to Australia, on board he met Joyce Lillian Gurney. They were married in Melbourne
Australia and had my father Cedric Edgar Selway. Joyce was the youngest of three daughters. Iris and Sylvia - I meet Iris in Burton-on-Trent some 33 years ago. She would have been about 60. Sylvia was married twice - the second time to an army person - as they lived in Malta. I have pictures of them as young girls - my grandmother is about 3 yrs. I have no idea about my grandfather - i don't recall any siblings. I know both sides of the family were very religious - The names Ann Bunting and Elizabeth Fry are familiar names in relation to my grandmother.  I know she was an adverntuouse young lady for her time and worked as a governess for Italian royalty.

That is all I have - but so want to know more. Thanks to anyone that can shed some light.
