Thanks for your comments. Regret I too have no maiden name for Sarah, Thomas' wife.
Howard Fall has also sent me a copy of his Gaydon family history and I have been in touch with John Hutson through Genes Reunited.
Regards

Hi
I can confirm that Sarah Geden married Joseph Morrell on 18th September 1755 at Bloxham - taken from a CD containing Bloxham BMDs. Hope this is helpful.

My wife is descended from Valentine Geden (b 1715), the brother of Thomas (b 1703)

Yes, this is the marriage entry I would like checked.

Because it was after 1837, I didn't think of trying the IGI first to obtain the precise date.

Many Thanks

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Birmingham Archives - HOLMES
« on: Wednesday 13 October 10 16:42 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone please do me a big favour and look up a marriage in Birmingham Archives ?

The marriage is between William Burgess and Elizabeth Holmes in the June quarter of 1863

I am particularly looking to confirm that Elizabeth was the daughter of my wife's Gt x 2 grandfather Charles Holmes who, I think, was either a Brass Founder/Dresser or a fruiterer at that time.

Also, the names of the witnesses would be helpful.

Many thanks in anticipation

I haven't got precise marriage info for Richard Geydon (baptised in Banbury in 1629) and Frances (baptised in Tysoe in 1642), but based upon the baptism of their first son, William in 1661 ( taken from transcripts from Tysoe Parish records) their marriage about 1660 seems most likely.

Transcripts from Banbury Parish records also show his parents to be Richard Geydon (1603 to 1660) and Ann Sheapard (1604 to 1653) who were married in Banbury on 6th October 1625.

Unfortunately, many of the Tysoe records at and before this time are not easy to decipher - especially as some seem to be in Latin. However, my contact - now regrettably unavailable - had indicated that there was a marriage at Tysoe in 1605 of a Thomas Gaden to Agnes Darloe. Could these be the parents of Richard and Ann ?

Tony

Hi Diane

Yes, you are a distant cousin of my wife, Vera. She is a direct descendant of Valentine Geden (1715 to 1798), the brother of Thomas (1704 - 1752) and son of William (1665 - 1729) who I think must be your direct ancestors.

Vera and I have had our tree on GenesReunited for about 3 years, during which we have made contact with quite a number of Geden relations. We hope, through RootsChat, that we can find some more.

Do let me know if you think we can help further in any way.

Best Regards

Tony

My first post - hope it reaches you!!

I have reliable info on Ursula as follows.

She married Frederick Jonas Tibbenham on 15th July 1906 at Forest Gate (West Ham RD). The reason you were unable to find the marriage was because her name is stated as Ursula Lucy GARDEN !

Frederick and Ursula at least 3 children - Lucy Mary. b1907; Lilly M. E. b 1911 and Daisy L. b 1913 all born at Forest Gate.

Ursula died in 1945 on the 13th June.

Her husband Frederick was born 1877 at Stratford (Essex) . He was a railway Guard.

My wife's mother's maiden name was also Geden originating from Tysoe, Warwickshire.

Hope this information is of use and you have not already got it.

Best wishes Tony
