Dublin / Murphy's Feather Store, 1 & 2 Bridgefoot Street, Dublin

Hi Rootschatters

I wonder if anyone might be able to point me in the direction of any old archive photos from the 1800s of a business called Murphy's Feather Store that was situated at 1 & 2 Bridgefoot Street, Dublin.

I've got lots of street directory documents and newspaper clippings referencing the business listed there, and still in the Murphy family from the 1830s up to at least 1878.  The business also doubled as a pawnbrokers for a while in the mid 1800s.

I believe 1 & 2 Bridgefoot Street was on the corner intersection with Thomas Street, and there was apparently an entrance into the shop via a gateway at 139 Thomas Street.

I've looked everywhere for old pictures of the business, but to no avail.  Hopefully the Rootschatters will be able to assist.  Would so love to find a picture somewhere!

Many thanks in advance!

Oh thank you japeflakes! That's wonderful. Great to get rid of that huge mark down the middle.

Many thanks again

Hi Rootschatters

Would anyone kindly be able to tidy up and maybe even colourise this precious old picture of myself as a young child in Old Trafford, Manchester in the 1960s, with our lovely family dog.

Thanking you so much in advance for any improvements!

Hi Rootschatters

Hot on the heels of a fantastic colourisation of another old picture, I wondered if any Rootschatters might be able to do anything to remove the cracks across this precious old snap of my parents, sisters, and other family members, taken late 1950's in Hullard Park, Old Trafford, Manchester, England.

At the time this picture was taken, they'd only recently arrived in Manchester, having emigrated as a larger family group from their home in Dublin, Ireland.

All the adults in the picture have sadly since passed away and this is a very treasured picture which I'd love to frame.

Thanking in anticipation.

Thank you so much to all the additional versions of the picture, with slightly different shadings on each - absolutely marvellous!  Myself and other family members now have all these variations to share between us.

Amazing!

Thank you again to all.
