Hi Cando,

I 'm sure we could work something out re passing on information. I purchased the book in 1994 from the Information Victoria Book Shop, not sure if there are many copies about now.

Cheers.
Merribell.

Thanks for the messageTed. Hope we'll be able to compare info soon.

My, there has been a bit going on. Have read it with interest. It sent me back to Family First, something I haven't done for a long time.

Peter, I am responsible for the other Corbett info on FF. I am a descendant of Sarah and was most interested to find that you had listed Sarah's children but not your Jane's in your contribution. Perhaps I have missed something.

There are references to Richard in 2 of the 3 volume series The Victorians. Arriving and Settling, also Neil Gunson's The Good Country Cranbourne Shire. Is everyone aware of this?

Cheers.
Merribell

Thank you ted,
Great to have your reply.
It would seem that your husband and myself are both 3rd greats of Richard.
John's exclusion from the will had puzzled me at first bit I recall reading somewhere that it was quite common at that time for a son to be set up with property instead of sharing in the father's will.
I wonder if you have copies of the letters that Richard and John wrote to relatives in England.
Cheers.

tedscout,sparrett,judb,tropicatz and Merlin,
May I join you please? Stumbled upon this chat the other night. Always worth checking the internet from time to time, one never knows what extra information may pop up. more pieces to add to the puzzle.
I am descended from Sarah and often wondered about John but never had much success - actually haven't pursued this line for some time.
I would be most interested in knowing what connection we each have an where we fit together.
Incidentally, my husband was one of the Corbett contributors to First Families.
Hope we may be able to exchange some information.
