Possible, could also be a medal from WW1? Not sure what sort of date these types of photos were taken!

Thank you Carol and Heather! The table items idea could work! The photograph is about 9 by 6 cms and on the back of it there is "velox" stamped about 3 times if that helps anyone...!

Okay, looks like Amy was lucky to have one of these taken then! Oliver Sarony, the photographer, died in 1879 so the dates you gave would fit, probably about 1878ish.

Ah right. So probably a purple toned chromotype then! I don't think I've heard of them before, are they rarer than the other cdv types (don't know the names!)?

Wow you're very observant! I would never have noticed the button if you hadn't pointed it out! So the photo is possibly c. 1883 then. I will try to find out when the photographer was at the address on the back of the cdv, might help a bit!
