1. Often referred to as Cousins German.
2. Quite common - just look at the Royal Family!

Ellen not consistent with age - how old was she on the marriage certificate?

1881 age 30 born Burtonwood
1891 age 47 born Burtonwood
1901 age 49 born Burtonwood
1911 age 63 born Burtonwood

at least birth place is consistent

1891 age has a mark through it but the others are clearly written.

I would suggest that the age in 1891 was actually 41?

Would that be the Parish Church of Ardboe?

Can't imagine why you would need to contact the parish directly?

Northumberland / Re: immigration records

So, you are looking for emigration records from UK, and immigration records at the NZ end?

There are no passenger lists available before 1890 at the UK end.
You have to concentrate your search in NZ records.
Emigration was likely to be from Liverpool or London, but Glasgow may be a possibility.

www.marriage-locator.co.uk says the 1906 marriage was at Wallsend St Luke.

Not sure I understand?
If Percy was born in 1877, how could he marry in 1881 - when he was 4 years old?

What a miserable response!

You are supposed to be interested in the story - not the "celebrity status" of the subject.
Michael Parkinson is an intelligent man, but his story was shelved due to having nothing interesting in his back story.
