World War One / Re: WWI, RAF Service Record, Deciphering
« on: Yesterday at 16:22 »
Hi Richard,
I have been scratching my head over the other abbreviation because I know that I have seen it elsewhere and I think I have the answer...
I reckon that it says 3/AM which I believe is Air Mechanic Class 3.
I am sure Tonepad will be along to confirm or deny my thoughts.
Regards, Paul

I think that this is STHC as on the next line but with more flowery writing.

Born 14 September 1838 if my old eyes have correctly read the writing. I don't see any cause of death...

Hello Pheno,

The alphabet has disappeared from my screen too but if you just put the first letter in the last name search box you will get all last names begining with that letter. You can also put the first few letters and so it will give you variations on a name.

Ellenmai,
You thanked me but I need to thank you, if you had not posted that you were having access problems I would not have known about the free weekend. Rootschat teamwork in action.  ;D

Hello Gadget,
What I was trying to say is that it does not work if you go direct from your Ancestry account, I started by trying that. Use the link that I gave, which has nothing to do with Facebook which I never use either, and you should be able to access whatever you want. It is how I got in free and I am busy downloading marriages and obituaries without any problems.
Good lucky

Erato, I don't use Facebook either so just click the link and all being well you will not go near Facebook.
