Thank you Ciderdrinker,

I hadn't actually found them in the 1841 census  .  I have them in the census after that.  I know that George seems to be the only one baptised outside of St John horselydown Bermondsey/Southwark.  When Hugh died aged 71 he is listed as abode workhouse parish of St. John Horselydown so most if not all of his life is spent in the same area.  I just cant find anything to do with his birth  or parents.  I just wondered if a letter was dropped from their name Coward to Coard as I can find a Hugh Coward born to a John Coward.  Although on the 1841 census you have a Charles Walter now the only Coard I have similar to that is a Charles Walton Coard he married in Rotherhithe in 1821 his parents were Ann Walton and John Coard  who married in 1799 in Christchurch Southwark so perhaps there is a connection.  Thank you for your help will have to keep trying!   Gayla

Hello,  can anybody help me with the coard family?   This is part of my husband's family, I have definitely got back to Hugh Coard who was listed in post office directory for 1829 as a corkcutter at 3 St. Thomas Street London who married Elizabeth Judith Pears 6th Feb 1818 Rotherhithe (Pallot) he was born approx. 1775 and died 9th July 1847.  I think he had 5 children  Elizabeth, George, Henry James, William and Frederick.  I am now stuck, I am looking for the parents of Hugh I know they a lived  in the area  of St Olave Southwark/Bermondsey and also  St. John Horselydown Bermondsey.  I can find a Hugh Coward but I am not sure if he is the same person. If anyone knows anything about this family it would be greatly appreciated :)

hello everyone :)

Yes thank you from me too for the tree Trevor.  It looks very interesting, weren't there/aren't there a lot of us!  If only we could find the missing link for the Stonham branch! Gayla

Hello Brooker 62 :)

Like young tug I would also be very interested in seeing a copy of your family tree.  We have come to a grinding halt and do not know where to go next.

My line is the same as Yi Win's our grandfather's were brothers, so i'm sure she would also be very interested. Look forward to hearing from you again   Gayla

 :)  Hello everyone
Just keeping in touch.  We all seem to have come to a full stop :(.  Have continued to search but have nothing new.  The only thing I have found is a will for John Blomvyle of Stonham Parva for 1480.  I am awaiting a reply from Yi Win before I ask for it to be transcribed, but apart from that I can find nothing to help us move forward (or should that be backward!)  I would be pleased to hear if anyone has anything new, it really is frustrating!

 Hi Again Diddymiller

Just reread your message and realised I had got the wrong date (Going mad!) I don't seem to have the Robert you mention on my line so he is probably from another branch of the family.  Thanks again Gayla :)

Thank you Diddymiller

My Robert Blomvyle's dates are about 1430 - 1498.  The Robert you mention is I think the grandson of the above Robert (think the date matches 1470-1534) and he would be a brother to Thomas who is my line Gayla :)

Suffolk / COCKERELL/BLOMVYLE Families
« on: Saturday 16 July 11 16:54 BST (UK)  »
Hello
Can anyone help me, I am trying to find any information about the Cockerell family of Suffolk , particularly Isabel who married Robert Blomville (Blomvyle) and was niece to Thomas Cockerell who died somewhere between 1460-1480.  I know it is not much go to on but I am researching the Blomvyle (Bloomfield) family and we have come to a full stop with our branch of the family.  There appears to be two different Roberts  around the same time and we need to find out which one married Isabell, so if not the right one we can discount this information. I know it is a longshot but if anyone has any information at all even about which part of Suffolk they came from I would be very pleased to hear from you  Gayla :)
