Thank you very much, Rena.

I have since read that Pallot's Marriage Index would be an example.

I am really after what slip means. Does slip mean handwritten pieces of paper that are used to compile the index?

Thank you for your reply Hillhurst. I had seen this here on page 5:

I am still wondering what a slip index actually refers to? Non-conformist, strays etc.

I have found a Fulham marriage in 1819 for Ann Ledgerwood and John Gray on Find My Past that is not on Ancestry.

It is on the 1813-37 Slip Index which is part of the Greater London Marriage Index.

I think it was compiled by Cliff Webb through the West Surrey FHS.

My question is what is a slip index?

Thank you.

My great-great-great-uncle is recorded twice in 1871.  He was very recently widowed.  Recorded with parents and at his own residence. Both within the same street in Bristol.

The certificate has arrived. Submitted 31/08/21 and sent 06/09/21, I picked it up from my postbox today, so it has arrived sometime in the last few days. For anyone waiting for similar to Australia, it took about a calendar month from posting in the UK.

The marriage was at The Register Office in Hammersmith.

Unfortunately it is not on Ancestry’s London England Marriages and Banns 1754-1936.

Oh, I never thought of that! Thank you. It was registered in Hammersmith.

Thank you for your response. Mine was ordered on 31st August. I know they are only delivering letters every second day now.
