Hi all.

My Great Grandfather decided that he would take a second wife before he had divorced the first or given her a chance to die. Naturally when both wives found out he was in BIG trouble :-X  ;D The second wife took it far worse than the first wife who I believe was glad to see the back of him. The second wife took him to Newcastle court on charges on bigamy. This was around 1920. I have letters dated 1919 regarding the second wifes process in trying to get my GG father to court but after that all went quiet. I am assuming that charges would have been bought against him, I just do not know where to look. Does anyone have any ideas??

Many thanks

Hi.

Can anyone out there prove that my mother in Law is not from outer space!! ;D Below are the names of her relatives found on the 1901 census, Thomas Watkins the elder is believed to have married a Maud Knox between the dates 1902-1905, I cannot find any proof of this, or any proof that the wife he has below was not still his wife on those dates.

My mother in Law is looking to find Maud's Marriage and death date, (around 1907 she believes) and Blanches death date, the wearabouts of the children below after 1901, if anyone can help me score massive brownie points with my mother in law I would be forever in their debt

Archibald Watkins abt 1900  Portsmouth, Hampshire, England
Blanche Watkins abt 1873  New Swindon, Wiltshire, England
George Watkins abt 1895  Portsmouth, Hampshire, England
 Thomas Watkins abt 1871Gloucestershire, England
Thomas Watkins abt 1893  New Swindon

Hello Joe.

Elizabeth Hogg was born April 22 1893 in Northumbland she died Died in the US October 4 1959. I am not sure when her father was born. I do somewhere in this mound of family history papers find his birth date and possibly the mothers name, let me know if you need the infomation and I will make a mammoth search ;D

Elizabeth I belive had a brother living the US. I have photos of Elizabeth if that helps.

Durham / Raven/Holmes/Mitchell
« on: Saturday 13 August 05 23:17 BST (UK)  »
Hello.

I am looking for information on a Samuel James Raven. Born 1876 in Lowestoft. Mother Martha married Henry Mitchell and moved to Hedworth Monkton and Yarrow, Durham 1891 census shows this.

Samuel Raven or Mitchell (seems to go by either surname) married my great grandmother around 1897, but then Married Elizabeth Holmes (widow) around 1919 they had a son Jimmy Raven. Elizabeth already had 3 children form previous marriage, she was a widow, I believe her maiden name was Richadison. Olive, Bella and John. In 1927 Elizabeth Holmes was living in Chester-Le-Street, Elizabeth Holmes I believe reverted back to her Previous name(and son I believe) due to the fact that my GG grandfather forgot to divorce his first wife before he married his second

If anyone has any information on this family I would love to hear from them, I have letters written from Elizabeth to my GG grandmother which makes terrific historical reading.
