When Lena's son Stanley DALY joined the ww2 forces his NOK was mother Lena.

For some reason it is shown in his file that he needed to sign a statutory declaration stating his mother was a permantent residence of Perth in 1944.

The address he gave was 197 Hay Street Perth East which is the adddress of Lena's sister, Ida, and husband James  at the time of James' death in 1952.

I think Lena kept quite close contact with her sister.

It is my opinion that Lena "fabricated" a reunion with Ernest before his return to Aust. and made the public newspaper birth announcement about Evelyn to ligitimise her pregnancy.

1918 electoral reg
Lena Florence Dyer , Dampier Western Australia

I don't have access so can't get the address. Wondering who else lived there but probably can't do an address search  ???

This is her Mt Pleasant, Meekatharra address the district  where the rolls show, a number of PRITCHARDs lived...her mother's family. And her mother, Mrs RICHTER

When Lena's uncle died, this notice was placed.
Pritchard relatives at Meekatharra

Lena it seems remained there during her husband's absence.

as for family, i know for sure that Evelyn was not taken in by them. Lena's sister Ida lived in Wiluna and had young children of her own. Ida's second daughter XXX who is still alive and with whom I have been in contact and discussed re this matter, knew nothing of either Edna or Evelyn

Death notice of James Valentine SATCHELL lists his children youngest. Usually listed in birth order.

Registered to 1921 in WA to Ida and James SATCHELL

Ada 1915, Died 1915
Ivy May 1916
Elsie Annie 1919
Edward James 1921

Wiluna is about 100 kilometers from Meekatharra

Most likely born in NZ, as you would already know, Hugh appears  on the 1958 NSW Electoral Roll living at 80 Uralba Lismore. No others of the same name there. A linotypist.

Before that, in 1954, he was at 290 Pt Chevalier Rd Grey Lynn Auckland New Zealand with family members. A linotypist.

This ad from 1954 suggests ( in that year anyway) , there were lodgings for boarders at 80 Uralba.
Seems to be for males only.

The distance to Gosford from Lismore is about 600  kilometers.

This previous post chats with pablo1 about his hobby of publishing lists of names.

No information is required regarding the lists of names.

I would be trying to have a very close look at the exact whereabouts of Lena's mother and Lena's sister at the time of Ernest's imminent return to Australia.

Any new infant additions to their families?

This kind of handover was a common solution to complicated situations as the kind Lena found herself in.

Her family seem to have remained in WA.

I saw the wife’s interment at a Brisbane Cemetry a couple of days ago.
She was not using the name Daly at that time.
Maybe I searched using her first names
I can look again later.

Don't know exactly when Bessie Maud returned to live with Edward at 29 Dagmar, but it is hard to imagine she took up the care of Irene's child. Possible I suppose.

The first record I see of Bessie at Dagmar Cres.is 1963.
