Hi James,

I am descended from Clara Down, your Henry's younger sister.

Not got much on the Lodingtons, but can send you what I do have.

Have got a load of info about Richard Down (their father), photos of the grave etc. and an ancestry going back several more generations.

Rose (Clara and Henrys mother) was related to Oliver Cromwell, so I can also send you that link.

Will PM you my email address.

Thanks Corrie, the picture is excellent.

I've just had a thought - perhaps Ann is buried elsewhere, and her parents or brother put the memorial in the church?

Much obliged, anyway.

Hi Corrie,

thanks so much for your effort. Strange about Ann Owens memorial - perhaps its fallen into disrepair and has been removed. Who knows?

I'll PM you my email addy, you can send me the photos that way.

As yet I've not found out anything else about Ann Owen - I was hoping her memorial would give me a bit more info :-(

Just for anyones info: there is a programme on TV on Wednesday evening (part 1 of a 2 part series) about Germans emigrating to the USA. As it is German TV, it will all be in German. However I thought I'd offer to record it if anyone is interested. Send me a PM, and we can sort things out that way.

Completed Census Requests / 1871 LLEWELYN DAVIES
« on: Friday 29 June 07 13:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

after a lot of searching, I found the family I was looking for in 1881, living at 34 Dorset Sq, London.

As it appears several children have already left home at this time, I'm now looking for the same family in 1871. Can anyone help?

Family:
John L. Davies, 55 (born 1826), Chichester, Sussex, Rector of Christ Church
Mary, wife, 46, born Childwell, Lancs,
Margaret C DAvies, U, 19, Marylebone, College Student Cambridge
Crompton Davies, 12 Marylebone
Theodore Davies, 10, Marylebone.

Also with them in 1881 was the mother in law and 10 servants.

Ta,

Caernarvonshire Lookup Requests / 1841 - Williams family, Llanllyfni.

From a marriage cert I received yesterday, I am now looking for an entry in the 1841 census for Llanllyfni, Caernarfonshire.

The family is Griffith Williams, a farmer of Bron Turner (probably farm name, taken from Marriage cert.), Llanllyfni. His daughter Elizabeth married in 1849. She was born in 1831, also in Llanllyfni.

I don't have any further info about Griffith, nor his wife nor any other children.

Can anyone help?

Hi Robert,

have you found Mary and Robert in the 1891 and 1901 census?

If so, can you post the details? Armed with this info, it will be easier to track them in the earlier census'.
