Hi if you send me your Gedmatch number I can check it against mine. I have 2 .1 for Ancestry dna and one My Heritage dna .
And it'd weird because one shows up dna relations when the other doesn't. Especially if its back 6 or 7generations.

Hi
I have a GGgreat grandmother Eleanor Mckeon or Mcewan as sometimes spelt.
She was born about 1802.She married Timothy Connell who was born 1802 in Macroom Co Cork. Timothy joined the 60th Rifles  1821 and came out with I'll health around 23 years after joining up.He came out in Paisley Scotland 1845.I have them on the 1851 Census.
The reason I'm posting is you mentioned the name Catherine Mckeon.
They had a daughter Catherine  Connell.I don't know who my Eleanor's parents were and Timothy's just has his mother' maiden name Oleary .but  I think Eleanors mother was either Catherine  Mckeon or Mary Anne Mckeon which is her other daughters  first name.
Do you have Gedmatch numbers with your Dna.I have mine on Gedmatch.

Who knows we might be connected.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / My Heritage matches

I posted a few weeks ago that I was waiting on my Dna results from My Heritage. So I'm 71 % Irish Scottish no surprise there. But there was a unbelievable surprise. Lol.

To Explain.Still trying to get my head around it and figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was born in a mining village Croy Nr Cumbernauld.
My dad from Croy  .My mum Kilsyth next to Croy.We are all related somehow .
So my mum born 1916 .
Her best family friend was Annie O'Neil.
Annie married a Bill Lyons in Kilsyth.1947.
My sister and I still visit their son in Kilsyth.
Annie's Oneils sister Mary married Bill's brother Archie Lyons 1945 .Kilsyth.

Mary and Archie emigrated to.Australia .

Now this is the Surprise.
Mary and Archies daughter.granddaughter and her niece and have done their Dna With My Heritage.

So who did I Match with as Second Cousin once removed.

Yes them.I phoned John in Kilsyth and he is also Shocked.lol.

So  I keep matching with their O'Neil and their great grandmother Ferns.

I've done my tree years ago and pretty good at it but now I'm going around In circles trying to find out how on earth we are related.
I know my grandparents lived Maryhill Glasgow same time as their grandparents or great grandparents. Then Kilsyth. 1910

So one of my grandparents siblings .My Great Aunt or Uncle is their connection. And we share same Great great grandparents.

My grandad  Mclaren from Paisley to Kilsyth 1910 is best bet.Irish .But his wife my gran and her sister were both Illegitimate and born 1877 and 1878 in Anderstone  Glasgow. Salvation Army.
I have a Mclaren Ancestor In New Zealand  my grandads great uncle left Paisley for Nz 1875.He has just done his Y Dna test and it came back he is related to the O'Neil Ireland and Neal of the 9 Hostages.
Sorry long post but any help appreciated
I'm going to ask my mum's side to do their Dna .Check it's her side of the family related to the O'Neil s Kilsyth.

Skeletons in the Cupboard comes to mind. Lol

Mine should show mostly Scottish and Irish. Will let you know the results see what they say.lol.

Hi Ewan
Yes I went Tuesday before Christmas. It was Wet and Miserable. Not a lot of people in Graveyard. So I got a good blether with my mammy and daddy without been overheard. Lol.Been a while from my last visit. Year exactly as I realised when I saw the wee santa flower pot we put down last year.I usually go most months.Just show how life has changed with this virus. But hopefully next year I will get more often.Have a good look about.
Until then have a Healthy Happy and Prosperous New Year Ewan. All the best for 2022 . Stay safe.

When the better weather is here next year i plan to visit the workers who are in building at graveyard as i know one of them.Get them to look up where my GGGrandparents  are buried they died 1875.
If you give me names i will have a look for you.

Hi just saw this old post about the Oak Hotel Denny.
I can tell you that in 1920s my husbands family came from Edinburgh and took over the oak Hotel.Boyle family were irish. My mother in law was born in the Oak Hotel 1926.Her grandfather owned the Oak and stables and house at back.He died around 1926 and his wife remarried and the Oak went to the new husbands family and my husbands family got nothing when it was sold years later. The family are still in Denny and hotel has now been made into flats.Marguerite.

Had a son born Portsmouth 1828.Daughter born co claire 1830 and another ireland 1833.Hard to keep track of where they were as they moved about so much in them days.
