Hello there. John and Williams' parents were John and Janet(Taylor) McIntyre. Yorics family and myself share the same tree.  I am the son Johns gr grandson. I am happy to help you in regards to info as much as I can. As an FYI the museum in Brodick has a great deal of info in regards to the family as well.
I am located in Canada

Hi Colin. Is it possible he is tied to the family? Maybe. Johns' wife, Janet- her maiden's name was Taylor.

Hi Colin. Many thanks for the responses. I do believe the older gentleman in the picture adjacent to John McIntyre is indeed that person in the census, Thomas Moore. He is not related as far as I know. I am hoping the museum can answer the question.  I believe the heavy-set lady to the right in black is William McIntyre's wife based on a picture I have seen recently.

cheers, Marc

I have been back and forth with the museum and they have been an immense help over time. I was not aware of the William Taylor McIntyre and his circumstances. There were a handful of them that served in WW1. His cousin Archie( James M) also served in WW1. Archies younger brother served in WW2 and was imprisoned by the Japanese and was part of the group that the bridge over the river Kwai was based on. He is buried in Thailand.

Many thanks for the info everyone.

Actually the John McIntyre in that story is my gr grandfather. His father John passed 1904. Neat story. John came to Canada about a year later. He did make a couple of trips back to Scotland and then when his wife came to Canada in the early 30s he and his son had bought ranchland in Saskatchewan. He and his wife returned to arran post 2nd world war.

Hi there. yes, that is the family. I am trying to date the picture. John McIntyre is my gr gr grandfather. I have an idea as to when as I confirmed one of the people I think last night. The older gentleman standing next to John. There was a boarder in his 80s living there in 1891. I think it may be him.

This is My Grgr grandfather John McIntyre at his home on the Holy Isle off of Arran. I have had the original scanned and redone. I am curious as to who the others are in the picture. I believe the young women seated on the right are his daughters. If I am correct the gentleman next to him may be a boarder that lived there. I suspect that it dates to late 1880s early 1890s.

Funny that I had looked on Scotland's people, figured I got something wrong. I do know one of Jennies sons may still be alive as he was living in Brodick the last I heard. He came with some cousins a few years back and visited my parents in here in Canada.  He and my dad had not seen each other since the early 60s. The Cumming reference is correct as that was my Gr grandmother's maiden name.
Again, thank you all.

Thank you all. I have good records for Anne and Jenny birth wise, just was never sure of their deaths etc. Thank you for the Gavin/Guy info, so the info I did find was correct. Unfortunately, my grandfather never talked of his siblings so the info provided fills some gaps.
Cheers, Marc
