Thanks for the replys everyone.

Due to computer problems i have been unable to post updates.

I have managed to trace Rachel and her family back quite a way. Once i get my family tree program up and running again i will let you know how far back.

Jean, thank you for the update, i had not managed to find a definate marriage for Charles. I will add this to my tree.
My Poskitt side seem to have made Middlesbrough its home for a number of years. I dont remember meeting any of the extended family though, so am not sure if there was a falling out at some point.

Thank you so much Gadget  ;D

I found Alexander and Margaret on Christina and George Wilson`s marriage certificate. I was then helped out by another family member who discovered that Alexander had remarried after Margaret's death.
I only have a daughter from this second marriage, this being Magdalene born in 1859 Fraserburgh.
I was given the marriage date of Alexander and Margaret, 22/10/1843.

I am hoping someone can help me out with this one.
I have Alexander Watt born 1816 Fraserburgh married to Margaret Noble.
Margaret died before the 1851 census leaving behind Alexander and 3 children; Marjorie,Christina and Alexander.
Christina was my 2x gt grandmother.
Alexander was a fisherman and remarried to Magdalene Watt.

Warwickshire / Re: Looking for Anthony Gillespie

Just a quick update.
I ordered Anthony`s marriage certificate and his daughter Emmeline`s   birth certificate.

On the marriage certificate his occupation is a Sailor and his father was Anthony.
On Emmeline`s birth certificate his occupation is Seaman Merchant Service.
So i have managed to get a little further ahead but not much.
I did find a death record on the FreeBMD site for an Anthony age 72 in 1877 Birmingham and one in Derby in 1882 age 65 both are likely candidates.
Looks like i have a bit more searching to do.

Warwickshire / Re: Navigation Street Nuneaton

Hi blueal, not sure if you managed to find the answer to your question but a little bit of cheek on my part paid off.

I emailed the Nuneaton Family History chairman Peter Lee and asked for his help, this is the reply:

Navigation Street is now Midland Road. It was called Navigation Street in the early 19th century because it was the roadway that led from the top of Abbey Street to the Coventry Canal Navigation at the bottom of Tuttle Hill. (and then out to Hartshill) The name was changed to Midland Road when the Midland Railway opened their station in 1864. The M.R. station was later known as Nuneaton Abbey Street Station.

He did attach a picture of Nuneaton in 1841 but it is quite small.
However you can find Midland Road on multimap, you have to type in Midland Road,Nuneaton though or it doesn't show up.

Hi Valda, thanks for that. Will be ordering his marriage certificate at the end of the month. Will let you all know what it has to says.

Seems i am destined to have difficult ancestors  :P. I have Scottish ancestors who also came back to Scotland from Ireland after spending a few hundred years over there. My husbands family seem to pop out of nowhere too. Its all good fun though and with kind people like yourselves willing to help out its not such a chore  ;)

Thanks again and will update you as soon as the certificate hits the floor  ;)

Hi pcjr, no problem hope the sites are of some help.

There is also a church as you go towards Attleborough called All Saints, not sure what denomination it is though.

Good Luck.
