Yes...thank you for your thoughts on the name problems.  I have thought of that and looked for several in the Smith family over several census.  As well as several for Clarence as well.  Thank you for your interest though

Family History Beginners Board / lost a whole family

I'm going to give this a go as a new user!
This looks like a very helpful family of genealogists. Maybe someone can give me some direction to look in.

I have done much searching for history of a very colorful 2-great grandfather John Clemens Guenther (b. Germany 12-5-1868, Imm. Buffalo, NY, killed himself in West Senaca, NY April 10, 1939).  Long story short married 4 times and all wives were possible poisoned by John.
I am having trouble finding his last 3rd wife Mary Smith's family after 1900.  They were last shown in Buffalo, NY.  parents Charles and Lena Smith- 8 children George, Charles, Mary, William, Annie?, Clara, Frank, Josephine.
Because of the event of Mary's young and suspicious death the children of John (Edwin, Frederick, George and Clarence) along with Mary's family all split in different directions.  I suspect that they suffered public attention.
I can't trace Clarence (John and Mary's child after 1910 and have 3 ideas.  Possible ideas- Clarence was put in an orphanage-he died at an early age-or was with Mary's family and maybe they went to Canada).
Would love to get some guidance in finding Mary's family or Clarence Guenther.  I seem to be at a dead end.
