I can't thank you enough for your interest and help. I will have to get more practice at doing this research online. Could gortonboy give me any info on the Army Service Corps for the relevant years. Would there be any way I could try to trace John Hagan's service record?

Hi heywood thanks for that here is some additional info re the great grandfather
His wife Elizabeth Hagan and children appear in the Census of Ireland for 1901 and 1911 hence the dates and places of birth. He must have died prior to 1901.
The children's names and places of birth are
Mary born in Enniskillen in 1885, Elizabeth Born Dublin 1887 (my paternal Grandmother), Rose and Annie 12 Born in Fermoy 1889, Daisey (Margaret) born Fermoy 1890, James born Limerick 1893, John born Limerick 1895, Alice born Limerick 1896

I am trying to get some information on My Great Grandfather I don't know his first name but his surname is hagan he was in the following places where he had children in the following years 1885 Enniskillen 1887 Dubin
1889-1890 Fermoy 1893-1896 Limerick. I imagine he must have been in some British Army Regiment any clues anyone?
