Hello Rootschat user

I have used both the "Rootschat" and "BBC" to help me find the answers to a few mysteries about my ancestors.

The other site I really like is "Curious Fox" - a small site - with the option of searching by village or town.

FH Documents and Artefacts / Broach - Southstoke, Somerset

Does anyone know when this broach may have been made?

I was given it when my mother's aunt died.  She had lived all her life at South Stoke near Bath.

Gloucestershire / Re: Knowle, Bristol - Redcatch Park - air raid shelter

I was told that there was an air raid shelter on the triangle of grass at the junction of Wedmore Vale and Marksbury Road.

I grew up in Bath, but worked in Jubilee Hall, Wedmore Vale, Bristol in 1993-1994.  So picked up information from local people whilst waiting at the bus stop.

It would be great if someopne else has a brooch similar to this one.

I got this brooch from my mum's aunt who lived in Southstoke from 1894 until her death.

Wiltshire / Re: WOOTTEN - TRUMAN connection
« on: Tuesday 14 June 11 19:15 BST (UK)  »
Patience HART'S Parents were Charles HART and Sarah JENNINGS who married 26 December 1814, Bromham, Wiltshire
Patience was Christened 07 January 1816, Rowde, Wiltshire to Charles/Sarah..

Patience and William Wootton are on the 1881/1891 Census together.
So no connection there that I can see.
I was hoping Patiences Mother was a Wooton.

Trish :)

Thanks Trish

I was hoping for a similar connection.  It is just a bit ironical that we can find lots out about the people we don't beed to research.  I guess I got interested because I was wondering what brought Patience Truman and William Wootten together.  Were they just friend's or were they in a relationship and all that stuff.
I was hoping to find one of them was related to one of my ancestrs, but that does not seem to be the case.
