Lincolnshire / Re: The BOYER / TAYLOR family from FRANCE and LINCOLN
« on: Wednesday 23 May 12 09:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am also descended from William Francis BOYER and Ann PITTS through their daughter Jane, who married Samuel PADDON (it looks as though you're descended from Jane's sister Hannah who married William Davis SOPER).
Have you any further with this query? I'd also heard the family came from France and would love to confirm the link.
Thanks!
Andrea

Thanks Monica, that's great!

The tree owner doesn't have a complete list of my ancestor Daniel Strang's children - he's missing my direct ancestor, for instance, and I have lots on Daniel's wife Mary Ann's family.

I can't see a way to contact him (Gary Bannan) from those Family Tree pages. Are they an Ancestry.com thing? Does anyone have any ideas? I'd love to share my info with him.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: BDMs Fred HOWARTH and Miranda CLITHEROE

Hello People,

I have no further documented evidence on this family as yet (the original couple enquired about are my great-grandparents) but the name "Ann Wood" has definitely been mentioned in the family.

You have uncovered evidence that our family has not known about! My mother always referred to the "Clitheroe Girls"; clearly the memory of the poor wee boys who died previously has not survived - until now.

Thank you so much! If there is anything anyone else can add, I'd be most grateful.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / BDMs Fred HOWARTH and Miranda CLITHEROE
« on: Friday 01 July 11 12:26 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I have the marriage certificate for Fred HOWARTH and Miranda CLITHEROE.

Marriage took place at the Trinity Wesleyan Chapel, Tellon Lane, Halifax, on 22 June, 1907. Bride was 26 years, groom 27 years.

Brides's father Samuel Clitheroe; groom's father William Howarth.
I know the groom's mother was Susan BERRY.

The couple had their only child, Ernest Clitheroe Howarth, on 31 Mar, 1909.

Can anyone tell me any more about these families?
b
Thanks in advance; all replies gratefully received.

Lanarkshire / Census lookup? STRANG, James *COMPLETED*
« on: Friday 01 July 11 11:37 BST (UK)  »
Hello! I would greatly appreciate someone with access to census and other records doing a look-up for James STRANG, b. circa 1807, occupation carpenter.

James married Isabella FREW, July 12, 1824, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire.
I have a possible death record for him in 1863, Glasgow, Lanark.

I'm not sure this is correct, as I have a passenger list from the Harwood, disembarked London, 23rd June, 1863, arrived Bluff, Southland, New Zealand on 18 Sept, 1863.

On board were the Strang family (listed as STRANGE), including mother Isabella and a James. Unsure if this is the father or a son.

I have family photos that are thought to be James snr, taken in New Zealand.
Any information very welcome!
