Crumbs!!- see your problem and don't have an answer. Reply #11 your index has the same person as the numbers line up. An error somewhere.
Maybe contact Scotlands People?

The Common Room / Re: Rosses who migrated to Australia from Kilmonivaig
« on: Sunday 11 August 24 05:31 BST (UK)  »
The short answer is yes. Go to the search button up top o the Rootschat - Homepage and type in 'Ross of Kilmonivaig'. This will answer your first question. You could piggy back on one of the posts with any queries. Or as Carole has already stated you could use this thread and put a 'meatier' post with what you are seeking.

Lots people here to help but you gotta give them something with whish to work.
Good luck on your genie hunt.

Herefordshire / Re: GILBERT of Walterstone
« on: Sunday 04 August 24 00:25 BST (UK)  »
UPDATE - I have a DNA cousin who has two very interesting matches. He obviously matches my Gilbert/Cecil for my Gilbert brickwall - William Gilbert bc.1757 of Shirehampton, Gloucestershire.
His 2nd match is to another Gilbert family of Walterstone.
This Walterstone Gilbert is David Gilbert b.1797 in LLancillo , who married Mary Payne .
Apparently there are 61 trees on Ancestry with this David Gilbert 1797 thread. Hopeing one of them reads Rootschat occassionally.
I am not on Ancestry.

Donegal / Re: DOUGHERTY surname and variants

Val, back track thru your BDM certificates and see if you can get clues from them.
If already done so with a 'nil' return then the chances of a ' name change' are highly likely.
The vaguaries of our genealogical research can sometimes be cruel and end with that brick wall.
Hope your luck changes.

Perthshire / Re: Anne ROBERTSON ca 1843
« on: Monday 08 July 24 21:25 BST (UK)  »
Keep it open.
Great result and enjoyed all the experts at their best and watched with great interest.
I too have a Robertson of Perthshire in query in motion, but no known connection to this post.
Being open means a 'cousin' or interested party may want the thread to continue.

Well done.
