Hello Gerry,Wrote to you before regarding g.g.grandfather who was from Ireland and is buried in Dalbeth  Cemetry.Since then have found his lair no. section and division no.I am from Ireland and intend visiting Dalbeth early next year.He has no gravestone,so just wondering is there is a map or chart showing where grave is.

number of lair it states plot 2,section 9,division 6.

Under the heading number of lair it states plot no.2.It gives the no. of the section and no.of the division.Also under the heading Relation to Owner it states member St.Alphonsus.

I have recently found my g.g.grandfathers lair number and he is buried  in Dalbeth Cemetry,Glasgow.I am from Ireland and intend to visit early in 2013.Is there a map in the Cemetry or is there some place i can go to find the exact location of the grave.

Just came across your posts re Old  Dalbeth Cemetry.While researching my maternal side of family i found out that my g.g.grandfather is buried in old dalbeth.He died in 1893.He is not on the list of surviving headstones.Does this mean that he was buried on common ground.

Yes,service records do exist.He died on 17th March 1902 at Brakfontaein.As far as i know he was buried at Vredefort.
