Thanks, that could be a possibility too.  The Mille family in the 1861 Census also looks promising.

Thank you so much, I will try again with the spelling Millar, it could be that James Millar and Margaret Roberton could be a possibility.

My sister has the Marriage Certificate somewhere, she is going to try and find it.  Hopefully it will list his father's occupation.  I think his occupation was Motor Fitter (I think a Motor Mechanic).  Also I can check the witnesses.  Thank you.

Thank you, yes, I thought the same as you that perhaps he was not entirely truthful on the Marriage Certificate.  He was quite a bit older than my grandmother, she was 24 when they married.  The marriage did not last more than 3 years apparently he was a womaniser, so perhaps he had been married before and perhaps he used different variations of his name.  I don't think I am going to have much luck here.  Thanks again.

Thank you so much.  I have also checked the 1861 Census and could not find them.  Also the did not have much luck with the 1851.  Found a James Miller with parents names John Miller and Mary Miller but not James Miller and Mary Miller.  Miller is such a common name in Dundee!  Thank you again.

The reason I thought the James Miller in the 1871 Census was correct was that it had been handed down to me that the names James, Alexander and John were always the names of the eldest boys in the family, in that order of birth.  In fact my father and uncles, we named James, Alexander and John, in that order.  Perhaps this is not the correct family, but it really felt right to me!

Thank you very much, this information is very helpful.  I now know his father's occupation and that he had died before 1881.  Thank you once again!

Thank you for your helpful reply.  The information I have is that my grandfather was single when he married in 1920, aged 42, so that would make his d.o.b. 1878.  Strangely his father's name on the Marriage Certificate is exactly the same as his, Pierre Martin Hubert Baron, which isn't very helpful.  Thanks again.
