Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: DNA Testing Advice

Thank you Craclyn for your response.  My concerns were about security of personal data and that it was not sold on to any third party.  Are you allowed to recommend any companies on here?

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / DNA Testing Advice
« on: Saturday 28 September 19 18:54 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I have been considering having DNA testing for quite awhile and I would like some advice please.  I have illegitmate link back over 100 years maternally and I have a paternal link where there was a death in my direct line and all contact with that part of the family was lost.
I also have an interest in ethnicity links.
I want to be sure that the company that I go with is discreet and adheres to data protection.

Any advice would be great.  Thank you.

Thank you for your help!  I don't believe that he died but I know that he was married at the time of the war.  I shall continue my search.

Thanks again!

Canada / WW2 Serviceman Information
« on: Friday 28 December 18 14:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
Does anyone know how I would go about finding an individual who served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW2?  He was stationed in London before active duty and I believe he was from Quebec.  It is possible that he may have been an officer.

I'm not posting his name on here due to sensitive reasons but if anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.  I know that I'm looking for a needle in a haystack!

Thank you.

Selkirkshire / Re: William Pearson Mystery

His father (William Richard Pearson) died on the 8th of April 1964 in Edinburgh; the certificate was signed by Thomas Pearson, his son from his second marriage, the half brother of William who I am trying to find out about.  I do not know if there was a will.  It is extremely unlikely that William died in Wales as it was his cousin that moved there with his Aunt, so not a direct relation.

I've checked all avenues before coming onto here, both Scotlands People and Ancestry.

Selkirkshire / William Pearson Mystery
« on: Tuesday 03 April 18 16:15 BST (UK)  »
I need some help with a mystery please.  I am trying to trace a William Pearson, twin of Helen Robb Pearson, born on the 1st of August 1909 in Galashiels.  His mother (Margaret Manor Pearson, nee Marshall) died eighteen days after he was born and the last that I saw him, he was living with his father and paternal grandparents (William and Helen Pearson) according to the 1911 census.  His sister went to live with her Aunt Isabella (nee Pearson) and Uncle William Templeton after they married but he did not.  I was wondering if he ever married and when he died.
Can anyone help?  :)

Thank you, I have solved the problem.  Thank you DonM as well; that is the correct information that I needed for Isabella Pearson Templeton.   :)
