Hi Wendy,
No, have not managed to find Edward and Mary in any other census but 1881, I found the grandson in 1891 living with his wife's family, and their grand-daughter and her husband in 1901. I think Heloise was their daughter(died in 1859) but don't know of any other children.

Hi Wendy,
Yes, I noticed that, and when his sister married in 1897 she still used the name Lozey, but all of Edward's children were registered as De Lozey! - and I thought with a name like that it would be easy!!

Hello there,
I am trying to trace Anthony Edward Lozey , born c 1813 in France and his wife Mary c1809 born in Guernsey. In 1881 they were listed on the England census, living with 3 grandchildren in Croydon. In 1890 the oldest grandson got married and gave his surname as de Lozey.Their daughter Heloise died in England in 1859 aged 21yrs,(unmarried) and their son Edward John (c1837) had 3 children, all born in England.  I cannot find any reason for the name change, or any further information on Anthony Edward and Mary,  Can anyone help?

Hi Sue, maybe her parents weren't married and Terrell was her mother's name?  that would explain why her father isn't named on her marr cert, but not why I can't find her anywhere else. Would it???

Hi Sue,
On the 1861 census it has Elizabeth born in Kenwyn, but her mother Elizabeth as born in Brazil, South america !!!  unfortunately there are quite a few Terrells in cornwall so it is difficult to know if I've got the right one!  This was the only one who matched the age , and on her marriage cert, there is no name for her father so I wondered if he died when she was really young - hence the death of James in 1866!
