Hi, following on from Forfarians post, have the minutes of a Poor Law appeal by Jean Gray or Smith (which was refused). I'm not sure if you'll find any useful information. They will charge 3 for a copy of the minutes from 1850.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Alexander Leiper 1861 Census

Hi, I'm trying to make sense of the above record. It looks like in the right hand column(occupation) that it has "Begin Monday" scrawled across it. If I'm reading this correctly, does this just mean that's where the census taker left off at the weeks end and wrote over the top of it on Monday or am I missing something? Thank you.

Hi, Godfrey and Isabella were married in Fetteresso(Stonehaven) in 1897. Info from Scotlandspeople.

Hi, I think it reads as follows: "Alexander Roy in the Glens(of Foudland?) had a child baptised before the congregation" then the clerks signature which I can't make out.

Hi, I'd like to thank you all for your wonderful efforts, it's very much appreciated. I didn't imagine it could be done so well. I've tried myself in the past and always given up in frustration.

Georgina was my grandmother and died age 36 and Lynn (with a neighbours' baby) died aged 23 leaving a five month old daughter.

Hi, I have recently been given access to these two photographs and would be grateful if anyone can remove the blemishes. If anyone can date Georgina that would be helpful too. As I am off on holiday, I thank you in advance but I will respond when I get home in a week as I am abandoning technology for this time. Thanking you

Technical Help / Re: TV VIZIO

Hi, I had a similar problem and opened up the remote (lots of info on internet) to find many of the contacts covered in condensation. I dried them off and left it open to the air for a short time to make sure and got a good result. I've done this on three separate remotes. I can only think the wet comes from sweaty paws as everbody denies spilling anything on them.
