Hi Richard :)
Apologies for the late reply to your post.
I'm afraid I don't recognise any of the Hayne names you mentioned - My family was Haynes so probably we are talking about two different families.  Sounds like they were around the same area at the same time, however, so possibly knew each other.  Most of my Hayneses had moved away by the early 1900s, with Edward up at Boorolong being the only stayer.

Thank you flst :)  Now that actually solves a mystery - that Margaret seemed to have been later known as Ann.  It now becomes obvious that William remarried. That means that my ancestor Alexander is the only child of William and Margaret, and that his siblings are children of the second marriage.

Happy Christmas, and thanks again to you and everyone on the thread ;)

Ladies 1, 2 and 4 have wedding rings - lady 3 doesn't.
Lady 1 is different from ladies 2, 4 and 3.

I think you have three ladies here.  1, 2 and 4, and 3 :)

China and Jim will be able to help with the dates soon.

I think it's definitely some kind of shorthand or code, whether it's an official one that anyone will be able to decipher is another matter  :-\   I have to say at first glance i did wonder about Arabic too  :)

Your both right just had a moment of clarity - it is her daughter who married a chap surname Dakin. The Dr has written it as Deacon. Thanks so much  - that has cleared that up, I was just about to start searching for another mystery sibling. Thanks  :)

Excellent!
