Thats quite a find there.
So, its probable that the husband William died in Ireland by the looks of it then.
Thanks for that

As for the immigration year I must of got it off another census or something. Going by that article they probably emigrated 1865/66.

Yes, the daughter Margaret married into the Boss family. I have her. Thanks

I'll give that record set on familysearch a look now.

I also came across this grave which may or may not be Mary Blanchfield (the mother)

Not sure.

William O'Neil and wife Mary Blanchfield lived in Hampshire, Massachusetts
Here is Mary and four children in 1870
https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/7163/images/4269721_00141?pId=28497156 living with Marys mother Mary Blanchfield. William is not registered so he must have already died by 1870?

ON the 1880 census it says Mary emigrated 1868, so this kind of matches up with the birth of the forth children Richard in Massachusetts.

I would like to find Williams death or more info, if any, on him.

I have not found any baptisms for the first two children in Ireland nor have I found a marriage for them there - which is very annoying!

Thank you

US Lookup Requests / Kiely Jersey City
« on: Thursday 10 September 20 12:58 BST (UK)  »
I am looking at a family that lived in Jersey City and I am wondering if any details could be found in newspapers. As the period is 1860-1880 maybe too early.

Catherine Foley Kiely died I believe 11 Dec 1879 at Jersey City, Hudson, born about 1835 Ireland. She left behind a sizable family including husband Michael Kiely.
These are the children in 1880 with their grandmother Mary Foley (excluding Michael - not sure where he is)

And 1870

I have not loacted them in the 1860 census. Their son John is 11 in the 1870 census so presumably they were married with child John (born New Jersey) in 1860.

They might be living in 175 Warren street, Jersey City in 1881, thats only a maybe based on the names

US Completed Requests / COMPLETED Michael Norris, MA
« on: Wednesday 29 April 20 22:08 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I am wondering if someone can help me find a date of death for a Michael Norris who was born abt 1861 and died in Massachusetts. He married Margaret Moore in 1882.
They are living in Suffolk, MA in the 1900 census.
He is also in the 1910 census but not the 1930. So must have died sometime within this time frame.
They had a number of children incl John F 1883, Joanna, Thomas, Edward and Mary 1893.

In their son' "John F" death notice in 1949 it states "beloved son of the late Michael Norriss and Margaret (Moore)". John died in Cambridge, MA

FYI, its Michaels death I am most interested in finding. His obit if one exists might include info on his Irish background...
No hints come up on ancestry.com regarding death nor have any trees with him in it have this detail.

many thanks

Moving back to original query of finding Francis in 1940.

I have located a marriage cert for him. He married in Feb 1930 to Mary A. Logan. Francis was born in 1907 and Mary is noted as being 22 years old on cert.
I have looked for them on both the 1930 and 1940 census with no luck. I would have thought that they would have jumped out in 1930, I'm obviously just plain old crap when it comes to hunting people down! Perhaps one of them died before 1940.
Just to refresh. Francis was alive in 1939 as he is noted on his mothers naturalisation paper and living in New York City.
