Tipperary / Looking for death of great grandfather

Hello rootschat, hope everyone is well

Might be a bit of a longshot, but I was wondering if anyone could help find a death for my great grandfather.

His name was Thomas Fitzpatrick, he was born in 1904 in Commons, Tipperary to Patrick Fitzpatrick. The family are not 100% certain where or when he died, we believe it might have been between 1979 and 1986 in Ballingarry, possibly around October.

I know shortly before his death he was a resident at St Senan's Hospital in Enniscorthy, Wexford.

I've tried getting his record from the GRO Dublin, but the search facility want his date of death, which I don't have.

any help would be appreciated.

Cumberland / Re: Surname ‘Lunar’ Cumberland

It might be that Lunar isn't from the area or perhaps it is referring to the calendar, as in Lunar moon.

I would recommend getting hold of the original record and perhaps seeing if it was written incorrectly

Norfolk / Re: Charles Ingram baptism Yarmouth

Thank you for replying.

I think you are correct.

The Charles Ingram who died in 1691 was I think the grandfather of Charles who was born in 1688.

Charles born in 1688 had a father named Israel, born 1663, whose father was Charles who died in 1691, he was born in 1636

The baptism in 1688 is the only logical one for Charles because there are simply no records anywhere else for a charles ingram baptised between 1690 - 1705

Norfolk / Charles Ingram baptism Yarmouth

Hello,

Been a while since I posted

My ancestor Charles Ingram of Yarmouth was baptised in 1732.

His parents were Charles and Sarah Ingram, married in 1722

Now there are no baptisms in Great Yarmouth for Charles Ingram between 1690 and 1725

There is however one in June 1688. I am wondering if this is him, as it is the only baptism that realistically could be him. There is one in 1681, but I doubt he would marry as a bachelor at the age of 41.

He would be 34 in 1688, quite a late age, but not entirely implausible to marry at such an age.

There is a burial for a Charles Ingram in 1691, one of the baptisms could be for him, but there is no age recorded.

What are your thoughts?

my thanks

Ireland / Re: Recovered census
« on: Sunday 19 June 22 21:00 BST (UK)  »
I agree Sinann, such a document would be fascinating, but it would prove of little use.

I can only trace my family back to 1809 so I wouldn't be able to make any connections to any people listed in the religious census and even if I could, I doubt it would help much

To be honest the only census that would prove useful right now is the 1926 census and we still have five years to wait  :-\

Quite pleased with the update

I finally have some Welsh dna which is good considering I was born there and have welsh ancestors

I have an irish grandparent so the fact the irish has gone from 6% to 25% is good

Scottish has gone down and english has gone up

My mother lost her 2% germanic and its now Swedish/Danish

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / percentage clarification
« on: Friday 15 January 21 15:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

A bit confused about something and I would appreciate some advice

According to my results, I am 35% scottish, which is not huge, but quite significant as it means I am a third scottish.

However looking at my family history, I have gone back nine generations and none of them are from scotland.

I think my ancestors were from scotland as my surname is listed as a sept of clan gordon, but I heard once that 35% means a close relative within a few generations.

How is the percentage so high yet there are no relatives from scotland within ten generations?

any opinions would be appreciated

thanks
