Thanks Tony, I will have to go across the sea to Ireland.  But Moston Cemetery is where I need to go.  Have you seen the book 'Irish Families, by Edward MacLysaght, by Allen Figgis, Dublin 1972?

The Rochdale library blocks the RootsChat site, so I have to use alternative access, sometimes my mobile phone, at £6 per hour!!  Other libraries are OK.  Marianne

Hi, it is so frustrating to know that there is a reply but my local library (Rochdale) will not let me access it.  I am on my travels at the moment.  No I have not persued the Irish connection yet.  My grandmother and grandfather were born in Ireland.  Mary Murphy in Dublin in 1888, her husband Thomas was born in Ireland, as was Patrick who brought his young family to Oldham.  I am catching up with another of his grandchildren, James whose wife died of Spanish 'Flu in 1917.  Thanks for your interest.

US Lookup Requests / Hunt, Chicago, Illinois

I remember posting my grandmother's weekly letters to 334 North Ivers Ave, Chicago in the 1950's.  I have now found out her maiden name was Margaret Hunt.  Her married name was possibly Smith, I understand that she was a widow by the 1950's.  I have traced her ancestors from Oldham in Lancashire England, and know they came from Ireland in the 1840's but do not know where. Does anyone have any information?  Thanking you, Marianne
