Family History Beginners Board / Re: ancestry of smith family. manchester

pauline many thanks your advice.
my niece has already set up family tree with ancestry.com..
tree so far is from thomas smith married Ellen(nee evans??)) 1845 and 1843 respectively.
thro their many sons and daughters... including my grandfather charles henry smith born 1873 to elizabeth maria walker, who in turn also had many children, one being my father charles born 1909 to ida smith(nee Lancaster)...
checking thro many links incccluding BMD in cheshire and lancashire, i am stuck from thomas and ellen,...thro census papers father of thomas being john smith and Sarah(Nee??) first living in salford and then lower wealton in cheshire..
but cannot link the both to something definate
chase links them possibly with william smiths, thro daresbury and macclesfield...??
william in 1824 and 1860 wilmslow in cheshire...
